Want to file an RTI in Vasai
Every day I start cursing the roads in Vasai (espically Manickpur), with the onset of rains the roads have become worst. The stretch between Vira Petrol pump and Mary-Villa bus stop is full of pot holes, to top it all half road in underconstruction. 60 days back the same road was underconstruction. The municipality workers dig the road, then fill it with tiles, then cover it with sand. While all this is done it takes more then 20 days for the municipality to complete the work for a stretch of 50 metres???
The other half of the road is worst coz vehicles from both the directions use it creating chaos and traffic. Worst still the ricksaws have been refusing to ply on that stretch if you want to get down at Vira Petrol pump, coz of the potholes creating problems for the ricksaw engines. Last week it was raining very heavily, filling th epot holes with water so nobody knows how deep is th epot hole. My mother is facing back problems coz of the pot holed road.
I want to understand if somebody can help me with filing an RTI in Vasai Municipality, describing the work carried out, the amount of money alloted for the work, who is the contractor, what was the deadline of the project, and related details.
I hope the Vasai Municipality will provide me with the information, and if I found people not abiding by the law, will definately approach the press. I am working in PR and have been interacting with press on daily basis. So I know whom to speak n who will file a story.
Note: If possible let me know which dept to approach to file this type of RTI?
